What is a Medical Alert System?

The medical alert system is a light weight wireless button that can be worn as a pendant, bracelet or on a belt clip. The alert can be activated by the push of a button, voice-activated, or an automatic call for help in the instance that a fall is detected or other emergency. When the medical alert is activated, a signal is transmitted to We Send Help's monitoring center where trained professionals can speak to the user through the button and dispatch help accordingly. It may be a notification to a family member or friend, or to emergency medical personnel depending on the nature of the emergency.

How Do Medical Alerts Work?

Most medical alert systems have a wireless pendant, bracelet or home-based transmitter that can be activated in an emergency. Home Based Monitoring

The convenience of a home based monitor is that the buttons are smaller, lighter and do not need to be recharged. These medical alert systems have a small console, the range of the buttons is usually about 200ft, which allows the system to be used inside and around the outside of most homes. These systems also support Fall Detection, Activity Monitoring, and Voice Activation options. Voice Activation allows the user to activate an alarm even when not wearing the button.

GPS Monitored Medical Alert

Fall Detection

At We Send Help, we know how important response time is in the event of a fall. A device with fall detection, can detect a fall and issue an automatic call for help even when the user is unable to activate the device. Our monitoring specialists will contact your loved one when a fall has been detected. Help is on the way unless a false alert has been confirmed.

Fall Detection can be added to any of We Send Help's medical alert systems for $5 per month.

Activity Monitoring

Receive instant notification that your loved one is up and active and get alerts if no activity is detected for an extended period of time. An automatic call for help can be issued if the user does not respond to our trained agent.

Home Security Monitoring
